Overall Purpose of the Role
Lead and support client engagements in government, PIF, and public-sector environments.
Combine AI technical expertise with consulting and business development capabilities to drive strategic initiatives and value-driven solutions.
The role requires 7+ years of experience in AI, machine learning, and data platforms.
Business Development and Consulting
- Lead AI and data advisory engagements with public-sector clients and align solutions with their mission objectives.
- Identify and cultivate AI and data engagement opportunities within provincial and central government, PIF, and public sectors.
- Conduct AI/ML and data maturity assessments, feasibility studies, and roadmap development.
Pre-Sales and Solution Architecture
- Prepare tendering proposals on AI and Data Management.
- Evaluate and lead selection of AI and data management platforms and solutions.
- Prepare AI solution architectures and cloud hosting designs to meet client needs.
- Collaborate with sales and technical teams to tailor solutions to client needs and procurement requirements.
Delivery and Product Development
- Lead the design and implementation of AI/ML and data solutions for public-sector contexts, including compliance, privacy, and scalability.
- Guide data science and engineering teams in creating actionable models and platforms.
- Design and lead pilot and proof-of-concept implementations.
- Promote innovation and product development.
Leadership and Strategy
- Develop and execute the strategic plan for the AI and Data Management business.
- Lead the AI and Data Management business unit P&L.
- Lead and structure the AI and Data Management talent team.
Technical Competencies
- Strong grasp of AI/ML algorithms, data engineering, data architecture, and MLOps.
- Familiarity with TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Databricks.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms such as Azure Synapse, AWS SageMaker, and GCP BigQuery.
Consulting and Sector Competencies
- Strong experience in client engagement, requirements gathering, solution scoping, and executive communication.
- Ability to create winning proposals, present value propositions, and conduct strategic account planning.
- Understanding of public-sector challenges including data privacy, ethics, digital inclusion, and legacy modernization.
- Familiarity with policy-driven AI development, regulatory compliance, and governance frameworks.
- Excellent communication, leadership, mentoring, organizational, analytical, and presentation abilities.
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
