Posting Summary: This Administrative Fellow will support the work of the TML Program Director and the broader faculty team across several programmatic and student-facing initiatives.
While some tasks involve coordination and strategic planning, others require hands-on support for efforts central to the TML mission — such as designing, organizing, and enhancing learning experiences and professional development opportunities for peers.
The role is not clerical but does involve detailed day-to-day work that calls for strong communication, organizational savvy, and an understanding of educational design in action.
This position will report to and involve collaboration with TML faculty and administrative staff.
It is designed to offer meaningful leadership and service experience within a dynamic academic community.
Job Summary/Basic Function: TML Suite / Program Support Assist with scheduling, communications, and planning for TML Microgrant workshops and events Coordinate logistics for the Microgrant program Support TML’s social media, including content creation Support community-building efforts and general space upkeep Contribute to new initiatives and special projects under the TML umbrella Monitor lab equipment, maintain cleanliness, and assist students using TML spaces Hold regular TML Suite open hours Careers and Professional Development Correspond with internship coordinators and alumni Maintain and update internship and alumni databases Contribute to the design of TML-wide professional development opportunities Assist in the design and analysis of student/alumni surveys Program and Faculty Support Collaborate with the Program Director and faculty on strategic initiatives Help prepare reports, visualizations, and communications grounded in data Serve as a student liaison in feedback processes or advisory meetings Documents required for consideration: - Resume - Cover letter Applications with missing documents will not be considered Please note: *Both U.S. Citizens and international students are eligible for this position. *This position is eligible for 3 tuition points per semester taxable tuition remission. Scheduling Student work schedules are based on the needs of the department and the student’s academic schedule. Students should discuss their schedules with the hiring manager/supervisor during the interview process. Hiring managers/supervisors will make every attempt to accommodate students’ needs. Work Limitations During the academic year, students may not hold appointments or any combination of appointments totaling more than 27 hours per week (International students may work up to 20 hours).
Minimum Qualifications: - Must be a TC student currently enrolled in a degree program and taking at least 5 credits during the fall/spring semesters - Must be able to abide by Teachers College academic and personnel policies and guidelines, including FERPA, Student Confidentiality Agreement and the Student Privacy Requirements - Must be able to commit to work the required minimum number of hours - Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and Social Media - Strong interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills - Strong computer, research, and presentation skills - Ability to work independently Previous experience (if applicable) - Strong presentation skills - Excellent time management and organizational skills - Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy - Must be able to work collaboratively with others, contribute to a positive team environment, and build effective working relationships - Ability to effectively prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. - Ability to complete assigned projects with minimal supervision - Ability to be flexible and adaptable
