Role Overview
Provide specialised adult endocrinology care at the ICC physical clinic on a part-time, in-person basis.
Evaluate and manage acute and chronic hormonal and metabolic conditions, including diabetes, thyroid, bone, pituitary, and adrenal disorders.
Coordinate with full-time clinical and administrative teams to maintain continuity of care between sessions.
Patient Consultations and Management
- Conduct in-person assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and follow-up during scheduled part-time clinic sessions.
- Perform histories, physical examinations, and reviews of relevant laboratory and imaging findings.
- Create evidence-based plans involving medication, insulin, lifestyle interventions, and referrals when indicated.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including dietetics, ophthalmology, and podiatry, to provide integrated care.
- Promote metabolic and hormonal health through preventive counselling, diabetes screening, and chronic disease management.
Quality and Patient Safety
- Maintain compliance with clinical, ethical, regulatory, documentation, and data privacy standards.
- Provide clear guidance to patients, families, and caregivers about diagnoses, treatment, medication use, risks, and follow-up.
- Deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care and report or escalate safety risks and quality concerns.
- Participate in clinical governance, quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and regulatory compliance programmes.
Documentation and Collaboration
- Maintain complete and timely EHR documentation to support handover and continuity of care.
- Use the clinic EHR effectively and participate in training and adoption of system enhancements.
- Communicate clinical recommendations clearly among healthcare professionals to support coordinated care.
- Mentor and support junior physicians and healthcare professionals through clinical guidance and knowledge sharing.
Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of clinical practice in endocrinology.
- Medical degree such as MBBS, MD, or equivalent from an accredited medical school.
- Residency training in Internal Medicine and board certification in Internal Medicine.
- Fellowship certification in Adult Endocrinology.
- SCFHS classification and registration as an Adult Endocrinology Consultant.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records, strong clinical judgment, and effective communication skills.
Additional Capabilities
- Experience as an Adult Endocrinology Consultant or in a similar role is required, with hospital or outpatient experience preferred.
- Ability to manage caseloads and priorities efficiently within limited part-time clinic hours.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with full-time colleagues between clinic sessions.
- Commitment to continuing professional development and current evidence-based endocrinology practice.
- Knowledge of population health management and value-based care principles is relevant to the role.
Workplace and Schedule
- The position is part-time and requires in-person attendance at the ICC physical clinic.
- Care is delivered during scheduled part-time in-clinic sessions with coordination between sessions.
