Job Summary

1. Provide Tier 3 operational support for BMC TrueSight / BladeLogic Server Automation and related configuration and management tooling, with a particular focus on supporting Windows and Unix patching activities. 2. Support Windows and Unix patch catalogue creation, patch analysis and patch deployment activities through BladeLogic tooling. 3. Monitor and manage the day-to-day health, integrity, scalability and availability of the server automation environment. 4. Create and maintain automation content for Windows, UNIX and database server platforms, including tool installation and configuration processes. 5. Build and support BladeLogic packages, component templates, snapshot jobs, discovery jobs and compliance jobs. 6. Create and manage extended objects, extended properties, smart groups and role-based access controls. 7. Create and maintain file deploy jobs, NSH scripts, PowerShell scripts and related operational automation. 8. Support BladeLogic infrastructure administration, including blasadmin kernel navigation and configuration. 9. Create and maintain Smart Reporting content, operational reports and supporting documentation. 10. Partner with Engineering teams and vendors to resolve tooling issues, implement improvements and support production stability. 11. Participate in data centre, disaster recovery and out-of-hours events as required, with remote access used where appropriate. 12. Maintain clear operational documentation and contribute to continuous improvement of the BladeLogic support model. 13. Knowledge of RBAC (Roles based Access Controls) in the creation of TSSA ACL polices, permissions and profiles. 14. Knowledge of TSSA reporting, TSSW_DW, TSSR, Live Reporting for the creation of Infrastructure health, patching, Job run and agent status dashboards.

Skill Requirements

1. At least 5 years of systems administration experience supporting Windows and UNIX platforms in a large enterprise environment. 2. Experience supporting BMC TrueSight / BladeLogic Server Automation in a large-scale environment; experience with estates of 20,000+ servers would be beneficial. 3. Strong working knowledge of BladeLogic Server Automation capabilities, including BL packages, component templates, snapshots, discovery, compliance, patching, deployments, NSH scripting, smart groups, RBAC, reporting and infrastructure administration. 4. Knowledge of Windows Server, RHEL, AIX, Solaris, Oracle databases and stored procedures. 5. Working knowledge of VMware technologies and virtualised infrastructure operations. 6. Working knowledge of PowerShell scripting; Unix shell scripting and Active Directory experience would be advantageous. 7. Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work across technical teams and vendors. 8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to produce clear documentation and work effectively with customer-facing stakeholders. 9. A positive, flexible and collaborative approach, with the ability to turn your hand to a broad range of operational tasks performed by the team. 10. Experience in a large financial services or investment banking environment would be advantageous. 11. A technical or information sciences degree is preferable. 12. Working knowledge of AI tool sets for future releases of TSSA that will be AI aware.
