Adjunct Instructor - Psychology

Position Duties

• The successful applicant will join a vibrant academic community dedicated to fostering a supportive and intellectually stimulating environment for all students. Prepare and deliver undergraduate psychology courses in accordance with department standards and course objectives. Utilize multiple instructional modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats, to meet the needs of diverse learners. Develop course materials, such as syllabi, lectures, assignments, quizzes, and exams, aligned with current psychological theories and research. Implement effective pedagogical strategies to promote student engagement, active learning, and critical thinking. Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback through graded assignments, discussions, and exams. Maintain student records, including attendance, grades, and communications, in accordance with university policy. Foster a respectful, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment for all students, encouraging participation and academic success. Be available to students via scheduled office hours, email, or other communication methods for consultation on coursework and academic progress. Stay current in the field of psychology and effective teaching practices through ongoing professional development. Comply with university and departmental policies and procedures, including those related to academic integrity, accessibility, and instructional quality.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree or graduate degree in psychology or a related field from an accredited institution, or current graduate student who has completed a graduate-level course in the subject they will teach. Requires candidates to establish residency in Utah upon hire. We seek colleagues with a history of demonstrating respect for students and colleagues both inside and outside the classroom. Preferred Qualifications: Completed graduate degree from an accredited and reputable program in Psychology or a closely related field. Applicants currently enrolled in such graduate programs may also be considered.
