Medical Facilities of America, a regional leader in healthcare and skilled nursing services, is seeking a qualified individual to join our growing team as a Accounts Receivable Billing Specialist in our Lakewood, NJ office.
As an integral member of our Business Office Services team, a key part of your role will be prioritizing resolution of aged accounts and recovering outstanding balances for medical services provided by our partner facilities.

What You'Ll Do
- Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of aged accounts receivable balances.
- Compare insurance contracts to remittance advice to resolve underpayments and denials from insurance companies.
- Utilize strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex billing and reimbursement issues.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to pursue collection of overdue accounts, with an emphasis on resolving aging accounts.
- Contact patients, insurance companies, and other relevant parties to follow up on outstanding balances and negotiate payment arrangements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address billing issues and improve revenue cycle management processes.
- Maintaining detailed records of collection activities, including payment arrangements, follow-up actions, and resolution outcomes.
- Review for accuracy and post remittances daily to appropriate account(s).
- Research and reconcile insurance payment retractions.
What you need
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Previous experience with medical billing and collections, particularly related to aged accounts receivable and revenue cycle management.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.
- Proficient with computer programs including accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
