Accounts Payable Clerk

Responsible for processing all outgoing payments in compliance with SFPHA Financial Policies and Procedures.

Performs day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recoding accounting payable data.

Verifies and investigates discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements.

In coordination with the Financial Consultant, implement policies, programs, and practices in accordance with federal, state, and tribal laws, regulations, and guidelines.

Under the guidance of the Financial Consultant, participate in reviews/audits performed by the U.S.

of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and other oversight agencies.

Must understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.).

Ability to obtain working knowledge of the U.S.

of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Indian Housing Program and other Federal Housing programs.

Preparation of all accounts payable coding, checks and documentation, and the assignment of entries to proper accounts.

Facilitates payment of vendors, which may include verification of federal ID numbers, reviewing contracts or estimates, and resolving discrepancies.

Perform all accounts payable month end and year end duties.

Set up, coordinate, and maintain vendor files for compliance.

Review and ensure that adequate insurance coverage is maintained for all jurisdictions and responsibilities of SFPHA.

Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
