Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is a highly skilled, management position that leads the City's Accounting division.

Under the general direction of the Assistant Finance Director, the Accounting Manager manages, trains and performs financial activities and accounting functions (including payroll and accounts payable), coordinates the annual external financial audit and prepares the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR).

Bachelor's degree in accounting and five years of accounting experience.

Two years of supervisory experience.

Five years of experience with finance, accounting and/or financial reporting.

• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and governmental accounting, auditing, and financial reporting, including Annual Comprehensive Financial Reports (ACFR).
• Knowledge of principals of budgeting, internal control and banking/treasury/cash management.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Office software.
• Knowledge of financial and ACFR preparation software.
• Skill in problem solving, communication (written and oral), leadership and analyzing.
