Role Overview
The Accounting Associate manages day-to-day accounting and reporting requirements for multiple SME clients while supporting Fincure's CFO advisory team.
The role manages the full accounting cycle from bookkeeping and reconciliations through financial statement preparation and tax compliance.
The position involves multiple client engagements, recurring deadlines, and clear communication with non-finance stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Manage bookkeeping and general ledger accounting for a portfolio of client accounts.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
- Perform bank, general ledger, and balance sheet reconciliations across multiple entities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual IFRS financial statements.
- Prepare and file UAE VAT returns and support UAE Corporate Tax compliance and registration.
- Support month-end and year-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and provisions.
- Gather financial data from clients, resolve queries, and provide reporting updates.
- Prepare audit-ready documentation and support external auditors during statutory audits.
- Maintain accurate financial records and working papers for each client engagement.
- Identify process improvements and compliance risks across client portfolios.
- Collaborate with the consulting team on client engagements and financial statement preparation mandates.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance is required.
- CA Inter or ACCA, part-qualified or qualified, is preferred.
- Three to five years of hands-on accounting experience is required.
- Outsourced accounting, audit firm, or shared services experience is a strong plus.
- Working knowledge of UAE VAT compliance is required; UAE Corporate Tax familiarity is preferred.
- Proficiency in Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, or similar software and strong Excel skills are required.
- Strong IFRS, bookkeeping, reconciliation, communication, organization, and deadline-management skills are required.
- UAE experience is preferred.
