About the Position
Book Corner LLC is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join its finance and accounts team.
The role supports routine accounting activities across retail operations and helps maintain accurate financial records.
Job Type
- The position is full-time.
Main Duties
- Process and verify daily sales, purchases, expenses, receipts, and payment transactions.
- Maintain Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable records and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Post accounting entries and assist with General Ledger maintenance.
- Perform bank, credit card, cash, and petty cash reconciliations.
- Verify supplier invoices and maintain supplier account records.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
- Support management and financial reporting.
- Maintain UAE VAT records and assist with VAT return preparation.
- Support UAE Corporate Tax documentation and record-keeping.
- Review inventory accounting entries, purchase transactions, stock adjustments, and costing records.
- Assist with payroll accounting, employee settlements, leave salary, and end-of-service calculations.
- Organize financial documents and work with auditors, banks, suppliers, tax consultants, and internal departments.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Around 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience in the UAE.
- Retail accounting experience is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax.
- Practical experience with Tally ERP, Zoho Books, QuickBooks, or comparable accounting software.
- Good Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, Pivot Tables, and financial reporting.
- Understanding of AP, AR, General Ledger, bank reconciliation, and basic financial reporting.
- Good numerical and analytical abilities with strong attention to accuracy and documentation.
- Ability to prioritize daily tasks and complete work within deadlines.
- Good communication skills in English.
