Role Overview
The Accountant reports to the Accounts Manager within the Accounts department.
The role oversees daily accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, inventory accounting, and financial analysis for a trading business.
General Accounting and Reporting
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate month-end and year-end closings.
- Prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, and ensure proper documentation.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS or local GAAP.
- Support budgets, forecasts, and management financial reports.
Payables and Receivables
- Oversee vendor invoice processing, payments, and customer billing.
- Monitor aging reports and ensure timely collections and disbursements.
Inventory and Cost Accounting
- Reconcile inventory accounts and ensure accurate valuation.
- Monitor COGS, import costs, and landed costs related to trade operations.
