Role Overview
Tristar Group is hiring an Accountant (Maritime) for its corporate headquarters in Dubai.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports within set deadlines.
- Prepare profit and loss and balance sheet schedules where applicable.
- Reconcile inventory, supplier, and customer accounts.
- Maintain fixed asset accounting records and asset schedules.
- Compile information for business unit management information reports.
- Book invoices after verifying approvals, purchase orders, goods received notes, supporting documents, and supplier advance adjustments.
- Maintain accounts payable listings and post-dated cheque records.
- Prepare bank payments after checking supporting documents and approvals.
- Reconcile bank balances with statements received from banks.
- Process petty cash payments and act as custodian of the physical cash balance.
- Account for bank and cash receipts, prepare and record cheques, and complete intercompany reconciliations.
- Assist with audit schedules and work papers and perform additional duties assigned by superiors.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Commerce degree required.
- Master of Commerce degree required.
- At least three years of similar accounting experience in a maritime agency required.
- Fluency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
