Academic Tutor - Elementary Students

• Position Type: Community Education/ Community Education - General

• Provide focused, individualized instruction and academic support to elementary students across a variety of subjects.
• Create a positive, patient, and engaging learning atmosphere that motivates students and builds their self-esteem.
• Provide responsive and clear communication to families regarding scheduling and student progress.
• Communicate with district teachers and staff when appropriate, to best respond to student needs.
• Understanding of effective teaching and learning strategies
• A genuine enjoyment of working with young children
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Ability to use technology as an instructional tool
• College degree required
• Teaching license preferred
• Previous experience in a tutoring or teaching role is a plus
