Role Overview
Process and apply daily cash receipts and support accounts receivable activities.
Research payment exceptions, account information, and unassigned cash using multiple screens and systems.
Responsibilities
- Apply customer payments by check and credit card through the client-specified portal.
- Research duplicate or overpayments and retrieve missing remittance information.
- Transfer, re-batch, or split payments according to instructions.
- Coordinate customer refunds with branches and collectors, including documentation, adjustment entries, and submissions.
- Create and email reports to branches and customers.
- At month end, ensure cash is assigned and applied and unassigned payments are researched and converted.
Requirements
- Understand the basic aspects of cash application and accounts receivable processes.
- Have intermediate Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook skills.
- Type at least 30 words per minute with 90% accuracy.
- Use multiple screens and systems to assess and research account information.
- Work independently and in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
