Role overview

Provide senior technical and operational support across the company's ICT infrastructure, systems and services.

Act as the primary day-to-day contact and escalation resource for Systems Engineers.

Support the ICT Manager with infrastructure, cybersecurity, resilience and service improvement initiatives.

Technical support

  • Develop company systems and improve IT processes supporting business and management needs.
  • Develop, install and support database records.
  • Provide technical support and training to IT users.
  • Liaise with the company's chosen IT provider.
  • Establish monthly Core communication posts to satisfy business needs.

Projects, security and sites

  • Assist project teams with deliverables and provide IT technical support to site projects.
  • Manage personnel identification cards and door access control fobs.
  • Ensure leaver network accounts are closed in line with termination dates.
  • Deliver, commission, support and train users on proven group and site-wide systems.
  • Support NSG remote sites and facilities-related technology requirements.

Compliance and facilities

  • Help ensure contracts and contractors provide effective services at competitive prices.
  • Identify future technology and facilities requirements aligned with the business.
  • Assist the security team in maintaining relevant accreditations.
  • Maintain compliance with company data protection policies and legislation.

Qualifications and technical requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Computer Technology or an equivalent qualification is essential.
  • Database administration and management, computer hardware architecture, network management and computer security are essential.
  • Competent use of Microsoft Office is essential.
  • Ability to follow strict reporting guidelines and organise and prioritise work is essential.
  • Membership of an appropriate technical or professional body is desirable.
  • Level 2 Health and Safety in the Workplace or equivalent is relevant; training may be provided.

Additional experience

  • Experience handling confidential and commercial information is desirable.
  • Familiarity with QSHEW operating procedures and requirements is desirable.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 is desirable.
  • Ability to communicate with colleagues, external stakeholders and contractors is desirable.

Pay and benefits

  • Pay is £37,500 to £45,000 per year.
  • Benefits include a company pension, on-site parking and private medical insurance.

Work location

  • Work location is in person.
  • The role supports company offices, facilities, project sites and remote sites across the organisation.
