Lead Engineer - Brake Application SoftwareRole Overview:We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong expertise in embedded software development for automotive Brake Application systems. The role involves designing, developing, integrating, simulating, and validating safety-critical brake control software. The candidate should have hands-on experience in embedded C/C++, model-based development, and simulation-based verification using MATLAB/Simulink, Stateflow, MIL, SIL, FSIL, CCSIL, and HIL environments. The role also requires domain expertise in brake control algorithms, ABS/ESC/EPB functions, AUTOSAR Classic, RTE, BSW/MCAL integration, CAN/CAN FD communication, UDS diagnostics, DTC handling, calibration workflows, and debugging tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, INCA, dSPACE, Lauterbach, and Polyspace.Main Responsibilities: Design, develop, integrate, and maintain embedded software for Brake Application systems and automotive braking platforms. Analyze software requirements, system specifications, and vehicle-level functional requirements to create robust software designs. Develop application software components using embedded C/C++ and model-based development methods. Work with MATLAB/Simulink models for algorithm development, simulation, code generation, and functional verification. Perform software development, debugging, and validation in MIL, SIL, FSIL, CCSIL, and HIL environments. Support integration of brake control software with microcontrollers, sensors, actuators, and communication interfaces. Collaborate with system, hardware, testing, calibration, and validation teams to ensure end-to-end software functionality and quality. Analyze defects, identify root causes, implement fixes, and support issue resolution through tools such as Jira, ALM, or similar. Participate in software architecture reviews, design reviews, code reviews, and ensure compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, AUTOSAR, and MISRA C standards. Prepare technical documentation, support software release activities, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement of software development and simulation processes. Required Skills:Strong experience in embedded software development for Brake Application systems, including ABS, ESC, EPB, brake control algorithms, vehicle dynamics, and safety-critical automotive platforms.Proficiency in embedded C/C++, real-time embedded systems, microcontroller platforms, software integration, debugging, and root-cause analysis.Hands-on experience with model-based development and simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, MIL, SIL, FSIL, CCSIL, and HIL.Good knowledge of AUTOSAR Classic, RTE, BSW/MCAL integration, software architecture, and automotive application software development.Understanding of automotive safety and quality standards such as ISO 26262, ASPICE, MISRA C, and software development lifecycle practices.Experience with automotive communication, diagnostics, and calibration areas such as CAN, CAN FD, UDS, DTC handling, and calibration workflows.Familiarity with automotive tools such as CANoe, CANalyzer, INCA, dSPACE, Lauterbach, Polyspace, Jira, ALM, or similar development and defect tracking tools.Qualification:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.5+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in automotive brake or chassis control systems.Key Competencies:Strong ownership of software design and delivery.Ability to work independently and guide junior team members.Good communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.Detail-oriented approach toward safety-critical software development.Ability to analyze complex technical issues and drive them to closure.
