  • Two-Way Audio & Video Streaming over Private 5G: Design and build a low-latency, high-reliability real-time communication system to enable bidirectional audio and video streaming between robots and remote operators.
  • Real-Time Network Performance & Reliability: Continuously monitor and evaluate network performance (latency, jitter, packet loss, throughput) within private 5G environments. Implement adaptive streaming, congestion control, and failover mechanisms to maintain stable audio communication under variable signal conditions and mobility scenarios.
  • QoS-Driven Deployment on Robots: Develop, test, and validate communication software directly on robot hardware. Tune Quality of Service (QoS) parameters to prioritize control signals and real-time audio streams, ensuring predictable performance across private 5G deployments.
  • PhD or MS in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong experience in real-time communication systems, particularly with TCP/UDP, RTP/RTCP, WebRTC, or similar media transport protocols.
  • Hands-on experience debugging and optimizing Linux-based networking systems using tools such as tcpdump, iperf, ping, ss, iw, or related utilities.
  • Familiarity with ROS/ROS2 and distributed robotic systems.
  • Solid understanding of private 5G and wireless networking fundamentals, including 5G architecture (gNB, core, slicing), latency behavior, LTE/5G handovers, signal quality metrics, and bandwidth constraints.
  • Experience developing and validating software on real hardware systems.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills across software, networking, and robotics teams.
  • Hands-on experience deploying systems over private 5G or cellular (LTE/5G) networks, including mobility optimization and performance tuning.
  • Experience building or operating real-time telepresence or teleoperation systems with live bidirectional video and audio.
  • Deep knowledge of QoS mechanisms, including traffic prioritization, rate control, congestion control, adaptive bitrate streaming, and jitter buffering.
  • Experience working with media frameworks such as GStreamer, WebRTC, or custom RTP pipelines.
  • Experience designing systems that gracefully handle intermittent connectivity and network degradation.
  • Ability to take full ownership of complex networking challenges—from architecture and implementation to field deployment and continuous optimization.
