1st Class Instrumentation & Control Technician

Role Overview

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on instrumentation and process control systems used in pulp mill operations
• Install, calibrate, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair field instrumentation and analyzers (pressure, flow, level, temperature, consistency, pH, conductivity, etc.)
• Maintain and troubleshoot DCS, PLC, VFD, and associated control systems related to instrumentation and automation
• Perform loop checks, control loop tuning, and reliability inspections
• Install and terminate instrumentation wiring and tubing in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Read and interpret P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
• Work with operations and maintenance personnel to support safe and reliable mill operations
• Complete preventive maintenance tasks, work orders as assigned
• Participate in startups, shutdowns, reliability initiatives, and capital projects
• Identify and report deficiencies in instrumentation systems in accordance with applicable codes and standards
• Follow all safety rules and procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and working at heights

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities

• Journeyperson status in Instrumentation & Controls Technician;
